Varun Dhawan's action thriller Baby John, which did not perform as expected in theatres, is now out on OTT. This Hindi remake of Atlee's superhit Tamil film Theri received a mixed response on the big screen, but is now hoping to reach new audiences on the digital platform.

Amazon Prime Video on Wednesday announced that Baby John has been given an exclusive global streaming premiere. Directed by Kalees, the film stars Varun Dhawan along with Keerthy Suresh, Vamika Gabbi, Rajpal Yadav and Jackie Shroff in pivotal roles. Apart from this, Salman Khan and Sanya Malhotra also have cameos in the film.
Baby John is presented by Jio Studios in association with Atlee and Cine1 Studios, while it is produced by Murad Khetani, Priya Atlee and Jyoti Deshpande.
Story of the film
Baby John is the story of DCP Satya Verma, who fakes his death to save his daughter from a dangerous politician Babbar Sher. But when old enemies return, Satya has to face his past, and he is ready to go to any extent to protect his family.
Varun Dhawan's statement
Varun Dhawan said about the release of the film on OTT,
"Baby John is an important milestone in my career. It challenged me to step out of my comfort zone, not only physically but also as an actor. I always wanted to do a full-on action film and it is a matter of pride for me to work with a talented director like Atlee. It was a great experience working with Keerthy, Vamika, Jackie Sir and the entire team. Now that the film is streaming on Prime Video, I am excited to see it reach audiences around the world."
Box Office Performance of Baby John
Baby John was earlier announced in 2023 under the working title of VD18 and was slated to release in theatres on 25 December 2024. However, the film received mostly negative and mixed reviews, which affected its box office collection.

Total Worldwide Collection (in less than three weeks): ₹61 crore
Estimated Budget: ₹150 crore+
Despite a disappointing performance at the box office, the film may now attract new audiences on OTT. Baby John is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
